The Aquile dominated against Sassuolo in yesterday’s match, but at the end could only rescue one point in the Lega Serie A.

Lazio rescued a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo in yesterday’s Italian Lega Serie A fixture.

And the Aquile manager Simone Inzaghi says his team is looking on the bright side, as they want to aim to finish the 2018-2019 season in the top four.

“The lads did well and we allowed Sassuolo practically nothing, except for two avoidable goals in the second half,” the coach was quoted by Football Italia.

“Sassuolo is a good team and they struggled because we put in such a good performance. There are regrets over the result, but we snatched it at the 94th minute.”

He commented: “If we win the game in hand against Udinese, then we’ll be in fourth place.”

“The only mistakes we made were the two goals conceded. A team like Lazio cannot concede goals like that, especially when they were the only chances Sassuolo had.”

“It was still a good performance and hopefully we’ll learn from it. The result is disappointing and two distractions were costly,” he added.

“It is going to be a very important match. We are all up there and it’s a battle for Europe. Picking up one point in two games will slow us down a little, but we’ll be fighting until the end.”

Lazio is currently in the 7th position with 49 points, thanks to 14 victories, seven draws and nine losses.

The team has eight matches left in the 2018-2019 season, and they are also playing in the Coppa Italian Semifinal.
