The Sassuolo manager believes Inter Milan is on par with Juventus, but the opportunity to open the 2018-2019 season against them is unique

Sassuolo boss Roberto De Zerbi is very excited.

Not only his team opens up the 2018-2019 Serie A season today, but the rival is one of Italy’s best.

Sassuolo will play tonight against Inter Milan, and De Zerbi is happy about that.

“Inter, as Luciano Spalletti said, start this season aiming to win the Scudetto. They reinforced a great deal and are in my view on the same level as Juventus,” he said according to Football Italia.

“We know how good our opponents are, but will nonetheless go out there to play our game.”

“I think it’s usually better to face the big clubs early, as they are still getting settled, but Inter seems to be well-drilled and so it doesn’t apply to them,” he explained.

“We’re in good shape too, we have strong players who are hungry. We need the right balance of humility and confidence to play the game within our capabilities.”
