Jupp Heynckes has given Bayern Munich’s new permanent manager Hansi Flick is backing as the “ideal man for the job.
Jupp Heynckes enjoyed two spells as Bayern Munich manager, both of which saw him pick up trophies.
His last spell saw him complete the quadruple, winning the Champions League, Bundesliga, the German Cup, and the German Super Cup.
His first spell saw him win two titles as well as two Super Cups.
In an interview reported by Goal, the club legend backs Flick all the way.
“Bayern made a wise decision by signing Hansi Flick as head coach.”
“For me, he is the ideal coach because he has already had a lot of experience in various positions in football in the past.”
“His qualities are professional competence, leadership in all areas, seriousness, solidity, and an excellent public demeanor.”
“I wish him and Bayern the greatest success in all three competitions.”
It’s not surprising when Club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and legendary captain Lothar Matthaus both who had a hand in picking Flick, see similarities in the managerial pair.
“From Jupp’s point of view, Hansi is a perfect fit for Bayern.”
“It is particularly their empathetic approach to the team that distinguishes both coaches.”
“Not only did the quality change at Bayern under Flick but also the whole atmosphere.”
“What Jupp Heynckes left behind has returned.”
“I believe that Hansi Flick can follow in the footsteps of Udo Lattek, Ottmar Hitzfeld and Jupp Heynckes.”
