Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has turned in to the funny guy when asked about potential signing Paul Pogba.
Paul Pogba has been linked with a move to Real Madrid since last season. It followed his very public fall out with then Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
The summer transfer window opened, Pogba admitted he wanted a change, his agent did everything possible to agitate the move.
Then Zinedine Zidane did nothing to quash the rumors.
Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has been remarkably quiet on the situation.
That was until after the Supercopa victory over cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid.
When asked about a potential move for the French World Cup winner, his response was rather odd.
It was unclear if he was trying to be humorous or mocking.
If he was mocking who was he mocking?
Was it Manchester United, and Perez’s way of saying Pogba’s a nobody until he comes to Madrid?
According to Goal, his response was:
“I don’t know who Pogba is,”
It remains to be seen how this saga will pan out.
Real are specialists at mind games when it comes to transfers. However, nobody saw the emergence of Federico Valverde and Pogba’s Madrid dream may be over before it started.
