Manchester City could be lining up Mauricio Pochettino to replace Pep Guardiola in 2020.
A story has emerged this morning that Pep Guardiola has a get-out clause in his contract with Manchester City.
According to The Times, Guardiola has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave City at the end of the 2019/20 season.
This is on the provision that certain conditions are met.
This is the former Barcelona manager’s fourth season in Manchester.
While his time at the Etihad has been fantastic for City, this season has not quite gone to plan.
They currently lie third in the league some 14 points behind league leaders Liverpool.
It is interesting to note Guardiola has never stayed at a club beyond his fourth year.
This leaves the question of who could replace him?
With news breaking of Pep’s possible departure, speculation is mounting that Mauricio Pochettino could very well be moving to Manchester.
Only to the blue half!
