The Liverpool forward compared Reds teammate Mohamed Salah to his Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mohamed Salah is not on the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo… yet, says Diogo Jota.
The 24-year-old is the only footballer present to share a dressing room with both stars. He plays alongside Salah for Liverpool at club level and links up with Ronaldo to lead the Portugal attack in international football.
So if there is anyone who can compare the duo, Jota would seem like a worthy pick.
The Portuguese has now given his verdict during an interview with Sky Sports, in which he praised Salah and outlined how the Egyptian is similar to Ronaldo.
But Jota conceded that CR7’s longevity in the game gives him the edge in this particular debate.
What did Jota say?
“I think I can put him [Salah] not yet too similar because I think Ronaldo did it for so long, and he still does, but the same standards, when they are on the field, they are very dangerous, they can score at any time and obviously that for me is very useful because I can watch and learn from them.”
Salah and Liverpool return to action on Sunday to face West Ham in the Premier League. For match details and betting tips, check out the link here.
