Is it possible that Miralem Pjanic has become Maurizio Sarri’s go-to guy ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo?

Over the summer Miralem Pjanic’s future was far from secure at Juventus, as he appeared to not feature in the new manager’s plans.

However, Maurizio Sarri appears to have had a serious change of heart and become the Bosnian international’s biggest fan.

Sarri’s famed “Sarriball” is highly dependant on a deep-lying creative midfielder, and Pjanic has slipped into the role with perfection.
Pjanic was missing from Juve’s labored victory at home to Genoa, and Sarri was quick to realize what his problem was.
According to Goal, he had this to say about Pjanic:

“We missed his quality, of course.”

“Also his rhythm, because he moves the ball fast and our play becomes quicker as a result.”

Statistically, last season was not bad at all for Pjanic and that left many to wonder why Sarri was so against him.

The player himself is far happier under Sarri than he was under Allegri, here is why:

“Playing under Allegri was completely different, as we immediately looked to get the ball wide,” he explained.

“Now, it’s different. My team-mates always look for me and I like that.

Ronaldo is still the Bianconeri’s leading scorer, and without him, they struggle.

But without Miralem Pjanic pulling the strings in the center of the field, Juve and Sarriball are nonexistent.
