Raheem Sterling has perhaps given the biggest hint ever that he would consider a move to what he calls “fantastic” Real Madrid.
Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling is a world-class footballer without a doubt.
As with any of the very best the beautiful game has to offer there is always speculation of a move to bigger and better things.
The obvious candidates are Real Madrid and their “Galacticos.”
Sterling is a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s side. City will not want to lose a player with his influence and contribution to the team.
Especially now with the two Champions League suspensions looming large, speculation surrounding their prized assets has been increased.
So in an interview with AS, while the England winger is committed for now to the Etihad Stadium outfit, he admits you just never know in football.
“It’s one of those things… Right now I’m at City and I’m really happy.”
“But Real Madrid is a fantastic club when you see the white shirt you know exactly what the club stands for, it’s massive.”
“At the same time, I have a contract with City now and I have to respect this.
All sound a bit of much about nothing, until, he added:
“No one knows what the future will hold.”
“I am a player and I am always open to challenges but right now my challenge is at Manchester City.”
“In the future, hopefully, who knows…”
There has been speculation in the past. But if Real seriously wants him and the player is in the slightest bit interested, they usually get their man in the end.
