Borussia Dortmund lost 2-1 against Augsburg yesterday in the German Bundesliga and for Thomas Delaney, the explanation why they lost is not easy to say.

Two goals by Ji Dong-won were enough to give Augsburg the 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund yesterday in the German Bundesliga.

For the black-and-yellow Paco Alcacer tried to give them hope, scoring at the 81st minute, but it was not enough.

And after the lost, Dortmund Danish midfielder Thomas Delaney spoke to the press to try to explain what happened.

“It’s a bad result. We gave it a good go but we didn’t have enough control,” he told the club’s official website.

“The team’s performance wasn’t good enough. I don’t want to talk about individual errors.”

“That can happen now and again when you have possession the whole time. We need to be better as a team in such situations and defender better after individual errors like that,” he added.

Dortmund is currently in the first position of the Bundesliga table with 54 points.

The team has won 16 out of 24 matches, drawing six times and losing twice.

They have also scored 58 goals and allowed 27.

“That’s not so easy to explain. Sometimes you have a run where they just don’t go in for you,” Delaney tried to explain.

“Jakob had a huge opportunity, Paco had another before he scored. The Augsburg goalkeeper had a top game. These little things make the difference in terms of whether you get three points or none. Unfortunately, it was none today.”

“We need to learn from our mistakes and improve. The way we performed in Augsburg wasn’t good enough,” he concluded.
