The Roma footballer joined the Italian Lega Serie A team during the summer, but he only played in 17 competitive matches.
Javier Pastore left French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
He was bought for €24.7 million by Italian Lega Serie A side Roma.
But he only managed to play in 17 competitive matches, scoring four goals, and getting one assist.
“It was a bit of a strange year,” he was quoted by Football Italia.
“I came to Roma in order to play regularly and be indispensable to the team, but for various reasons, it didn’t turn out that way.”
He explained: “I wasn’t consistent, but I don’t think it was that negative either.”
“The important thing is that now I feel in good shape and it showed when I scored several goals towards the end of the season.”
“I am very happy and the most important thing is that I’ve broken that vicious circle of the muscular injuries,” he said.
“I’ll start pre-season with much higher objectives and ensure it is more competitive than the campaign that just concluded.”
“I have a contract for several more years, so I see no reason to leave,” Pastore concluded.
“As last season wasn’t so good, I would love to have a great campaign and really show what I can do here. I want the Roma fans to know what I’m capable of.”
Javier Pastore 👏👏👏
