It was overwhelming: Klopp

The Liverpool manager couldn’t believe what happened today as his side defeated Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League.

Liverpool has booked its ticket to the UEFA Champions League Final after defeated Barcelona 4-0 tonight, 4-3 on aggregate.

And for manager Jurgen Klopp, the match was simply too much.

“The whole game. The whole performance was too much. It was overwhelming. I watched in my life so many football games but I can’t remember many like this,” he told RTÉ Sport.

“Winning is already difficult but winning with a clean sheet I don’t know how the boys did it.”

“I saw James Milner crying after the game on the pitch, it means so much to all of us,” he added.

“There are more important things in the world but creating this kind of atmosphere is so special.”

“After the game in Spain we were confident we could score four and win 4-0,” Georginio Wijnaldum added.

“People outside doubted us.”

“They thought we couldn’t do it. But once again we showed everything is possible in football,” he continued saying.

“I was really angry that the manager put me on the bench. I just tried to help my team, I’m happy I could do that with two goals.”
