Leicester City have completed the signing of Caglar Soyuncu from Freiburg.

The Foxes have added to their defensive unit with the signing of the defender from German Bundesliga side Freiburg for a fee believed to be around the £19million mark.

The Turkey international has signed a five-year deal that will keep at the King Power Stadium until the summer of 2023.

Soyuncu had been drawing a lot of interest of top European clubs with Arsenal and Manchester United sending scouts to watch the player but Leicester have won the race for his signature.

The 22-year-old has represented Turkey on 15 separate occasions and is widely regarded as one of the finest prospects in the country.

“After months of wild speculation regarding his future at the club, we are pleased to found a solution for both parties,” Freiburg sporting director Jochen Saier said about Soyuncu, according to Daily Mail.

The signing of Soyuncu and the refusal to let Harry Maguire leave for Manchester United shows Leicester City’s resolve to improve their standing in the Premier League from last season.
