Milton Keynes Dons have appointed former Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale as their new manager, confirms BBC. In a press conference scheduled for 5pm this afternoon at Stadium MK, the recently-relegated Dons presented their new manager.
Tisdale was linked with the role before the end of the season and his contract at St James’ Park outshined the Grecians’ quest to win promotion through the League Two play-offs. Having been served a notice for his two-year rolling deal in November 2016, Tisdale has effectively been playing out time in Devon.
Both he and the Grecians agreed the matter should be resolved one way or another following the conclusion of Exeter’s League Two campaign, which finished last Bank Holiday Monday following a 3-1 defeat to Coventry City at Wembley Stadium, even though his deal does not expire until November.
Tisdale was given until last Friday to accept the offer of a new, improved deal at St James’ Park. But when that deadline lapsed, the club reluctantly withdrew the offer and swiftly appointed Matt Taylor as his successor, according to Devonlive.
