West Ham United coach Manuel Pellegrini revealed that Jack Wilshere is sidelined again with a new ankle injury

The former Arsenal player has made just five appearances for West Ham in the Premier League this season due to an ankle injury.

Now, just a few days after Wilshere made a comeback in West Ham’s 3-0 win over Newcastle, a new ankle problem has occurred.

Wilshere’s absence was noted in West Ham’s 3-1 win over Cardiff City on Tuesday night with Pellegrini confirming he’s out again.

The Chilean, who labelled Wilshere a midfielder worth “£100m” this week, revealed the England international felt some pain in his ankle during training.

“Jack has a small pain in his ankle, not the one he injured before,” said Pellegrini, according to Sky Sports.

Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic is another injury doubt after withdrawing in the first-half with a hamstring problem.

“We cannot know about Marko at this moment,” Pellegrini said.

“We must wait until tomorrow to see the medical examination and then we’ll know what it is.”

Former Arsenal striker Lucas Perez scored twice, after coming on for Arnautovic, with Michail Antonio grabbing the other in West Ham’s 3-1 win against Cardiff.
