Jack Wilshere says that he wants to move on from a nightmarish previous campaign where he struggled for fitness.
Following a promising display against Manchester City in a preseason friendly, Jack Wilshere is keen to put his fitness woes behind him.
The England international’s career has been plagued by injuries in recent years. And despite showing so much promise in his early days, Jack Wilshere has been unable to become the sort of star his talent deserves.
During West Ham”s 4-1 thumping at the hands of Manchester City in the Asia Trophy in Nanjing, Jack Wilshere was handed a star. In an otherwise poor display for the Hammers, the English midfielder was a bright spot.
And after starting the preseason well, Jack Wilshere is eager to do play as many games as he can next season according to The Daily Mail.
“I want to play as many games as possible,” Wilshere said.
“Last season I started well but then picked up an injury. You can”t plan for that.
“I don”t need to tell you how frustrated I was. It was my first season at a new club. I wanted a new challenge.
“It was frustrating but that is behind me now. It is a new season. I want to push on.”
Jack Wilshere joined West Ham as a free agent after his contract with Arsenal expired. The England international is on a three year deal by the Londoners. However, he wasn’t able to showcase his true potential during the first season with the Hammers due to the nightmarish injury worries he has had to deal with throughout his career.
Still only 27, Jack Wilshere has a great chance to resurrect his career at the London Stadium. And with a full preseason to look forward to, one can hope that the former Arsenal man can stay injury free.
