Manchester United’s pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho is reliant on the future of Paul Pogba, reports say.
Pogba has regained his place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI immediately upon returning from a long-term injury that had kept him out of action for a large portion of 2019/20.
Although the French star already formed up a formidable midfield partnership with Bruno Fernandes, he has yet to provide any updates on his future.
Pogba has been angling for a move away from the Premier League for over a year now, with Real Madrid and his former employers Juventus reportedly credited with an interest.
United remain confident of keeping hold of the 27-year-old playmaker beyond the summer, but it may cost them the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
According to Daily Mirror, the Red Devils won’t be able to fund the deal for the 20-year-old forward unless they sell Pogba.
Dortmund continue to stick to their guns when it comes to their £100million valuation of Sancho, which Manchester United can’t afford following a financial fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.
The two are not mutually exclusive, though, but their unification would require the Old Trafford outfit to wait until the next summer.
