Roma had an abysmal 2018/19 campaign in the Serie A and the club’s president says that he is hopeful that things change for the club next season.

Indeed, by their standards, Roma had a pretty abysmal campaign. The club went through three different managers but all three failed to guide the club to the Champions League.

With a squad that boasts the likes of Eden Dzeko and Cengiz Under, Roma were supposed to do much better than finish outside the top four. The club struggled for consistency throughout the campaign.

And Pallotta was not pleased with how his team performed.

Now with Paolo Fonseca in charge, the club is looking to start next season on a stronger footing. While speaking to the club’s official website as reported by tutto mercato web, Pallotta said that he is hopeful of a change in fortunes.

“I think everyone knows about my dissatisfaction with how it went last season and also about my concerns regarding the previous season (2017/18) despite reaching the Champions League semi-final.”

“In any case, I can say that after the last few weeks spent building a new team with Paulo, a new sporting director, a new training staff and working to improve many other areas at Roma, I have different feelings.”

Pallotta also revealed that after speaking with the new coach while taking a walk on the streets of London, he felt positive about next season.

“Walking down the streets of London during the night and discussing things with the coach, I felt more excited about Roma’s potential and its importance to football.”

While Pallotta has been criticized by the club’s fans, he maintains that he always has the club’s best interests in his heart.

“Maybe I should do something better to prove it, but deep down, there is no one who cares more about Roma than me. I look forward to a new future.”
