Leicester City manager Claude Puel has revealed that striker Jamie Vardy will return to action on Saturday against Chelsea.
Puel took caution and rested Vardy for the Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday after he had played full-time in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.
“I hope [Vardy] can be fit for this match and can find his qualities,” Puel told Sky Sports.
“With his quality and his aggressiveness, he is a very good player for us. We need Jamie – with his ability, capacity, and character – to give his best.
“Of course, it has been difficult for him with injuries and suspensions this season, but he is a valuable player for us and we need Jamie to be at his best for us.”
Vardy is Leicester’s top goalscorer this season, with five goals to his name, and will be looking to get on target at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
