It appears Roma midfielder Javier Pastore is loving his new role in the 4-2-3-1 Roma system having defeated Frosinone.
He admits “I do feel more at ease in the trequartista position.”
Roma had regained some confidence ahead of Saturday’s Derby della Capitale against Lazio as they thrashed Frosinone 4-0. Roma’s head coach Eusebio Di Francesco had changed to a 4-2-3-1 formation and Il Flaco is feeling the new role.
“I do feel more at ease in the trequartista position, as I managed to get a lot of touches between the lines to set up the strikers. That is my role,” Pastore told DAZN via Football Italia.
Pastore netted his second goal with his back-heel this season, however, this time he came on a Davide Santon cross to score.
“After so many not very positive results, we needed to play with determination and concentration to get back to winning ways.
“We want to win the derby and we’ll do everything we can do win it. I know this is a match that counts for a great deal in Rome.”
