Barcelona defender Jeison Murillo will be suspended for the first leg of the Copa Del Rey tie against Sevilla, according to Barca Blaugranes.
The Colombia defender, who joined Barcelona on loan from Valencia this month, will miss the Sevilla tie due to suspension.
The Spanish Football Federation confirmed on Friday that Murillo would miss out due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
The 26-year-old picked up yellow cards in both legs of Barca’s last 16 tie against Levante, he also picked up a booking for Valencia in their 2-1 win over the Ebro in October.
The news is a blow to the Catalan club, who are still without Samuel Umtiti due to injury, although Thomas Vermaelen has returned to training.
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde could turn to young players for the game, but given the first leg is at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, it’s likely Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet will start at the heart of defence.
