Jesus – I will have to learn from Aguero

Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus admits he will have to learn from Sergio Aguero to improve and become one the regular starting 11.

Jesus is having a great season,  but trying to oust City’s number 1 striker Aguero is going to take more than that.

Pep Guardiola has given Jesus plenty of opportunity, but it has come in his less favorite position on the wing.

The Brazilian has plenty of experience on the wing and is by no means against playing in that position, its just not his preferred spot.

The player himself has reiterated his stance, that he will play wherever the manager whats him, but is desperate for more playing time.

In an interview reported by goal.com, Jesus acknowledges the competition for places is high,  but that is normal at a top club, he is open to playing wherever the manager needs him.

He said:

“It’s City you know! The competition is very high.”

“City has good players, an amazing team, so whoever is playing is going to do good work.”

“I like this position but I am always going to respect the manager’s decision.

He has found himself as w winger primarily, but that ok too, as he has plenty of experience that position.

He added:

“Since the Copa America, I’ve played right winger [for Brazil].”

“I like it.”

“I started there in this position for Brazil and my old club. And after I played as a striker.”

“Of course I like to play both positions and I think it’s very important that you can play more than one.”

Rather than complain, or simply settle for another spot, the player has opted to do his job for the team, while learning from the man who he is trying to surpass.

Jesus had nothing but respect for Aguero.

He continued:

“It’s difficult to describe Sergio.”

“Sergio is the top scorer for the club and every game he shows us why he’s the top scorer.”

“Of course I have to learn from him, he’s a legend.”

“He scores in every game. I won’t score every game. I think we’re different, me and Sergio.”

“I am 22 and I have to improve my football – my qualities, my finishing – I have to do it and I have to learn from Sergio.”

Wherever you look in the City lineup they ouze world-class quality.

The winger’s position is no easy task either, as he is competing with Raheem Sterling who is in red hot form, the experience of Mahrez and Silva.

Jesus really needs to make the most of his opportunities, as City still has Leroy Sane to come back from injury too.
