Joao Felix tempted by Atletico Madrid move

Atletico Madrid are in the running for Joao Felix and the youngster could be tempted to link up with Diego Simeone and co instead of going to the Premier League.

The Joao Felix transfer saga is definitely becoming more of a soap opera. The young Portuguese attacker is one of the most gifted teenagers on the planet.

After some consistently amazing displays for Benfica in Portugal and in Europe, major European lights are shining in his direction.

The likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus have all been credited with interest.

Benfica on their part, are willing to allow the youngster to leave if someone meets his release clause which is quite a lot. Several clubs are willing to do that but so far, no one has made any headway.

The Portuguese giants are already resigned to losing their star player.

Match Preview: SL Benfica vs FC Porto

Portuguese champions Benfica will welcome Porto to Estadio da Luz tonight at 20:00 (CET).

“Joao Felix had a release clause of €60m and we realized after two or three games that we must increase it to €120m.

“But it is Joao Felix and his family who will decide if he stays. If someone bids €120m it is not worth dreaming that he will stay,” said the club’s president a few weeks ago.

Now, according to Daily Mail, the youngster is linked with a move to Ateltico Madrid. The Madrid outfit is set to lose the services of Antoine Griezmann who could join Barcelona. Diego Simeone has already seen several kee players leave Wanda Metropolitano. The Argentine could do with a spending spree of his own.

Reports claim that Atletico Madrid have already convinced the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes. Joao Felix initially had doubts over moving to Atletico. But it seems that Mendes has convinced his client that this could be the right move for him.

Simeone is a huge fan of Joao Felix and believes that he can turn him into one of the best players on the planet.
