Joao Felix was unveiled as the club’s latest signing and the youngster was not fazed by the occasion where he spoke about his ambitions.
After long last, Joao Felix has signed a big money deal with Atletico Madrid. The youngster is set to become a long-term replacement to Antoine Griezmann who’s set to sign with Barcelona.
The talent is there for everyone to see and it could be a case of €128 million spent well by the Madrid outfit.
On Monday, the young playmaker was presented to the media where he was naturally asked about the pressure that comes with becoming the 4th most expensive player in football.
However, rather than be fazed by the occasion, Joao Felix said that he doesn’t bother about transfer amounts.
While speaking to reporters via Foot Mercato, the Portugal international stressed that he isn’t worried about how much he cost.
“This subject, the price, it’s a market thing. Me, I have nothing to do with that. What I’m going to do is help the club where I am. More expensive than Cristiano Ronaldo? The amounts, I’m not too bothered as I said, I’m here to do my job.”
“The price-related pressure, I don’t really feel it. I’m completely disconnected from that. I do not read, I do not listen to what is said. Sometimes it’s positive things, sometimes negative, I just try to do my job.”

Clearly Joao Felix has left a lasting impression on journalists. While speaking about the comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo, the teenager said that he is his own person.
“He’s a great player, we all know he’s the best in the world. When we were in the team, he always spoke to me about Madrid, he talked about it a lot. Me, I’m here to write my story, but yes this comparison with him is also flattering. Cristiano is Cristiano. I’m Joao Felix.”
Now it is up to the youngster to prove his credentials on a bigger stage.
