Red Devil’s goalkeeper Joel Pereira has joined Belgian side, KV Kortrijk, on loan for the rest of the season.
The young goalkeeper had previously spent half of the season on loan at Vitoria Setubal, where he made 16 appearances in all competitions.
United triggered the recall clause in the agreement earlier this month and they have now loaned him out to Belgian side KV Kortrijk according to Skysports
Pereira’s future with Manchester United has been a huge source of concern to the player’s manager as this current move is his fourth away from United. He had previously been loaned to Rochdale in League One and Portuguese side Belenenses.
Jose Mourinho was a “firm believer” in Pereira’s abilities when he was in charge of United and said the Portugal U21 international “can become the best Portuguese goalkeeper of the next generation”.
His loan move leaves United with Sergio Romero and Lee Grant, who joined for £1.5m from Stoke City in July, as the primary backup to first-choice goalkeeper De Gea.
