Jorge Mendes has become the latest to praise Cristiano Ronaldo for his hat-trick against Atletico Madrid, describing the Juventus forward as ‘epic, legendary and divine’.

Ronaldo made headlines around the globe with his treble that helped the Bianconeri complete an epic comeback, to seal a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

And Jorge Mendes lacked superlatives to describe Ronaldo’s qualities but reckoned he is arguably the best player of all time.

“Cristiano is the best player in the history of football and he showed it [on Tuesday],” he said in a quote cited on Football Italia.

“He’s an alien. Cristiano made the difference in England, making history for United. In Madrid, he became Real’s best-ever player and they wouldn’t have won so much without him.”

Gareth Bale declared that he views Cristiano Ronaldo as an "incredible player" and insists there were never any problems in their time together at Real Madrid.

With the Bianconeri still searching for their first Champions League trophy since 1996 and has backed the Portuguese star help end the wait.

“Ronaldo was the leading light of their four Champions Leagues. Now I’m certain that he’ll make a difference in Italy too. He’ll make history at Juve.

“Three adjectives for him? Epic, legendary, divine.”

Juve have all but secured another Scudetto owing to their healthy point gap at the summit of the Serie A. But the main objective of Allegri’s team remains the Champions League crown.
