Just In: Suarez goes off injured 37 minutes into new season

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez goes off injured in the first half of the opening game of the season.

With Lionel Messi already out, and the departure of Philippe Coutinho just announced, Barcelona is in the midst of an attacking nightmare.

Uruguayan international Suarez has been forced off the field before the first half was even over. It appears to be some form of a calf injury.

The player was forced off the pitch and indicated that it was perhaps a muscle strain in his right leg.

According to the Daily Express, Luis Suarez night was over in the 37th minute.

He soon signaled to the Ernesto Valverde that he was unable to carry on.

This was not the start the Catalonians wanted to the defense of their La Liga title.

The striker had the best chance of the first half when he hit the woodwork.

He was complaining of pain and the club medics treated him on the sidelines. He apparently was unable to continue and was subsequently replaced.

His replacement Rafinha came on to make an almost immediate impact, by also hitting the frame of the goal.

The game is precariously posied at 0-0.
