Alessandro Del Piero has credited Mohamed Salah’s mentality for his excellent run of form at Liverpool.

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero claims Mohamed Salah has already earned the status of a ‘God’ not only among the Egyptian football fans but also among the Liverpool fans.

In 2017, for a fee of €42 million, Mohamed Salah signed for Liverpool on the back of a couple of strong seasons in Italy, first with Fiorentina and then with AS Roma.

Since then, the 27-year old has become one of the key players in Jurgen Klopp‘s team. He has scored 68 goals in 97 games while also becoming the fourth quickest player to reach 50 Premier League goals in the process.

And, as Mirror reports, Alessandro Del Piero insists Salah’s mentality has had a major role in his improvement at Liverpool.

He said: “Salah is already a God – and not only in Egypt!

“When he was at Roma, I remember how many times he was in front of the goal and then he missed the goal. And then all of a sudden, at Liverpool he improved that. And he scored more than 30 goals per season!

“When you have this kind of mentality that you want to improve yourself, to grow – it’s the best thing.”
