The Bianconeri sporting director insists the club are not thinking about tying down their star player to fresh terms right now.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s renewal is not something “on the agenda” for Juventus at the moment, says Fabio Paratici.
Ronaldo’s future has become a subject of intense debate following Juventus’ exit from the Champions League.
The Portugal international has been unable to come even close to inspiring the Italian giants to European glory. They have been dumped out of the competition by ‘lesser’ sides in each of the three seasons since his arrival – Ajax, Lyon, and now Porto.
Paratici was asked to comment on the speculations surrounding Ronaldo’s future at the Allianz Stadium following last night’s upset.
“Fortunately, there’s a year left on his contract; we have time eventually to discuss it with him,” the Juve sporting director told Sky Sport Italia. “Let’s just say it’s not on the agenda right now.
“Cristiano has his career in his hands. Always with these great players, you know that when they decide to end their experience with one team and move on to another experience, it’s they who decide, and you have to respect that decision.
“We have to consider how he will feel in order to continue or not once his contract expires.”
