Marquinhos is Juventus’ key target for this summer’s transfer window and the Italians are going to push PSG into selling their star defender.
He may not be one of the most famous players in a star-studded PSG outfit but Marquinhos is definitely one of the most important players at the team.
Since signing for the Parisians from Roma a few years back, the Brazil international has gone on to become a mainstay in the club’s defense alongside fellow countryman, Thiago Silva.
And at the age of 25, the centre-back has a lot of time to develop and become one of the best defenders in the world. It appears that Marquinhos’ performances have not gone unnoticed with the Brazilian attracting attentions from Juventus.
Juventus are keen on signing the defender and are even willing to offer PSG the services of Douglas Costa who has been deemed surplus to requirements in Turin.
Foot Mercato claims that Marquinhos may not be against the idea of sealing a move to Italy. However, PSG don’t really want to sell their star defender. And with Thiago Silva not getting any younger, Marquinhos is seen as a long term presence at the heart of the defense.
Thomas Tuchel is a huge fan of the defender and is unlikely to allow his bosses into selling a player whose attitude is worthy of praise.
Regardless, Juventus are reportedly preparing a package for Marquinhos that could make him one of the club’s highest paid players.
Although Marquinhos has stated that he doesn’t intend to leave Parc des Prince in the summer.
“100% I’m staying here [at PSG],” the defender stated following his side’s defeat at the hands of Stade de Reims at the end of the campaign.
Nonetheless, the chance to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and being part of an exciting project could entice Marquinhos into retracting his statement.
