2. Players not delivering
Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici deserve credit for pulling off some great deals for players over the last few years. They’ve pulled off some excellent coups for practically nothing.
But the two Juventus chiefs didn’t do good business in the previous summer transfer window. Signing Aaron Ramsey for free hasn’t worked out, with rumours already suggesting an early exit for the ex-Arsenal man.
The jury is still out on Adrien Rabiot, who also joined Juventus on a free transfer. Although the former PSG midfielder has shown flashes of promise recently and perhaps just needs more time.
The club’s €75m summer signing Matthijs de Ligt, meanwhile, has struggled to hold down a regular spot. However, he is slowly growing into the defender Juventus need following some decent performances of late.
But Danilo has been disappointing, Gonzalo Higuain is making no progress, while Douglas Costa and Sami Khedira keep getting injured.
