Juventus are reportedly lining up a shock move for Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt if they are to lose Alex Sandro this summer, claims The Sun
The Brazil international appears to be increasingly unlikely to stay at Turin for next season and has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the past.
However, reports have recently suggested that Jose Mourinho’s interest in the left-back has cooled.
Due to the departure of fellow left-back Kwadwo Asamoah, Juventus are reluctant to part with another but they may be forced into action depending on Sandro’s final decision.
The 27-year-old has received a new contract offer with the Serie A champions, but Juventus have already begun looking at alternative options in case he decides not to extend his stay with them.
In light of this, Van Aanholt has emerged as a shock candidate due to his impressive performances for Palace towards the end of last season.
The Netherlands international could leave the Premier League this summer in a £25m deal after scoring five goals and adding an assist in 28 league appearances last season.
Currently, the Old Lady are in talks with United over a move for Matteo Darmian, who can play as a left-back, but the negotiations are not progressing as well as originally hoped with both clubs unable to agree on a suitable transfer fee.
