Tottenham Hotspur are still anxiously waiting for a further update on Harry Kane’s injury, after it was revealed that the forward has yet to have the scan on his right ankle
Kane sustained an ankle injury in a challenge with Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic which saw the England international twist his right ankle. The 24 year-old was taken off the pitch after just half an hour into Spurs’ 4-1 win and was later seen wearing a protective boot.
football.london has reported that Kane cannot undergo any scan on his right ankle, until the swelling has gone down first. Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino shared his thoughts after their victory against Bournemouth over the weekend.
“We need to wait until tomorrow. After tomorrow he will have a scan in his ankle. Of course he suffered an injury that is in the same ankle as he suffered before,” said the Argentine.
“But I hope and we hope it’s not a massive issue. We need to wait.
“Always the decision is between him and the doctor. He felt that when he landed and twisted his ankle it was impossible to stay on the pitch.
“He is positive. Harry has a great character and is always positive. He’s happy with the victory for the team, disappointed of course with his problem. But now if you are positive then you start the recovery from the injury now.”
The 4-1 victory over the Cherries moved Pochettino’s side up to third place in the Premier League standings. They will next face Swansea City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday.
