Benzema ensured that Real Madrid did not feel the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo and is now setting sights on life as an MMA fighter after retiring from football.
Real Madrid secured 34th La Liga title thanks to their core group of experienced players. Karim Benzema was their talisman as new recruits struggled for fitness and form.
Benzema was in fine form for Los Blancos, hitting the back of the net 21 times in the title-winning campaign.
But football is not the only thing on the former Olympique Lyon man’s mind. He has aspirations to try other sports as well.
When answering questions about MMA from friend and French kickboxer Fouad Ezbiri, Benzema shared that he loves the sport. He added that he can even take on the sport once he hangs up his boots.
“Well Fouad my broski, in any case I hope you’re doing good, and it’s true that I love fighting sports,” Benzema was quoted by Sports Max.
“I love training, as you say we already trained, after the soccer why not train with you for six months and if you think I can be ready for a fight, no problem for me, I’m up for it!”
The French ace now has his sights set on Manchester City and Champions League. But if we were to guess Benzema in MMA, it will be with the biggest organization UFC.
