Follow us in the tragic comedy about Sergio Ramos, the Real Madrid captain who provoked his booking in order to play the quarterfinals and failed.
Sergio Ramos is the Real Madrid captain, he is considered one of the best defenders in modern history but he is also one of the most hated characters in modern football.
Los Blancos’ skipper has a long history with his never-ending violent outbursts against rivals that the referees always seem to overlook, just last weekend he literally punched Lionel Messi in the face during La Liga’s El Clasico and didn’t even get a yellow card for what was clearly a violent outburst.
This behavior from Ramos has been a constant throughout his whole career, the most unforgettable moment of this nature came during the 2018 Champions League final against Liverpool.
During the previous final that Real Madrid won, people can talk about Gareth Bale’s brace all they want but the player who really did something that affected the game in a fundamental level was Sergio Ramos.
There are two specific plays in which the Real Madrid skipper was involved, the most important moments of the match and they both were fouls that completely ended with Liverpool’s chances to win the trophy.

The first one was perhaps the noisiest of them both, it happened during the first half as Ramos pulled Mohamed Salah to the floor with him and effectively injured his elbow.
The Egyptian forward will never forget the day in which Sergio Ramos prevented him from playing the most important game of his life, this moment was a huge setback for Jurgen Klopp’s side but Sergio Ramos didn’t have enough with just taking their best player out of the game.
The second foul he committed was not as evident but it was way more important than the one against Salah, we are obviously talking about the elbow right into Loris Karius’ jaw, a foul that effectively ended the goalkeeper’s career at the highest level of football.
Sergio Ramos didn’t even get called a foul for either play, this knock on Karius’ face was the reason Gareth Bale was able to score his second goal.
We really can’t say anything about the Welshman’s incredible overhead kick stunner, but his second goal was too easy not to save and Karius wasn’t able to properly see it because he was still dizzy from Ramos’ foul.
The Spanish player kept denying any guilt about what happened, but Karma was going to get back at him sooner or later.

Fast forward to two weeks ago during the Round of 16’s first leg between Ajax and Real Madrid at Johan Cruyff Arena, Sergio Ramos get booked on purpose because he innocently believes that he won’t be needed for the second leg of the series at the Bernabeu.
UEFA properly punished him with a two-match ban before this Tuesday’s match, the captain has to watch how his squad gets completely bettered by Ajax from his own box at the Santiago Bernabeu and his frustration is quite evident throughout the 90 minutes.
There is a lot of people who have had enough of Sergio Ramos’ impunity, they really enjoyed watching the Spanish defender suffering from the stands at the stadium while his documentary was being filmed according to Diario AS.
This moment is what is better known as divine justice, but Sergio Ramos still hasn’t paid all the unfair treatment he’s given to all his foes throughout the years.
However, the outpouring on social media is quite overwhelming against Sergio Ramos and his public humiliation.
It was about time the Real Madrid captain got a little taste of his own medicine, he can go on vacation now and nobody will miss him until next season.
…. y mientras el Real Madrid se caía a pedazos.
….. mientras la farsa del fútbol europeo se acababa en 90 minutos.
¿Qué creen que hacía Sergio Ramos?
