Former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane believes Harry Kane is the world’s greatest “No.9” and expects him to be at the club for a long time

After four loan spells during the early stages of his career, Kane has since developed into one of the most renown scorers in Europe following his exploits over the past four years.

Kane has won two Premier League Golden Boots, along with the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot, and sits in fourth-place in Spurs’ all-time record scorer’s list on 160 goals in 243 games.

The 25-year-old, however, has regularly been questioned on whether he can continue producing the feats he’s managed so far on a regular basis.

But Keane has no doubts over that whatsoever and backed Kane to beat Jimmy Greaves’ scoring record of 266 goals for Spurs.

“I’m sure he’ll stay at this club for a long time,” Keane told Sky Sports on YouTube.

“He loves it here. There’s no question that he cannot get to Jimmy Greaves’ record.

Cairney says there have been improvements at Fulham

The team is at the bottom of the English Premier League table and they are just 13 points away from safety with seven matches to go.

“What I like about Harry is that… everyone keeps talking about ‘ah, next year is he going to be good?’ He keeps doing it.

“I’m sick of people saying ‘is he tired?’ because he keeps banging the goals in and that spurs him on.

“When you speak to him he gets annoyed when people keep mentioning it and then he just keeps coming on the pitch and keeps scoring goals.

“For me at this moment in time, he’s the best No. 9 in the world.”

Keane retired from football himself last year after spells with the likes of Inter Milan, Spurs, Liverpool, Celtic and LA Galaxy.

Spurs will host Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday in their next Premier League match.
