Kenedy out of Chelsea tour

during the Barclays Premier League match between Chelsea and Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on November 21, 2015 in London, England.

The youngster has been sent home following his disrespectful behavior on social media that caused an outrage within Chinese fans.

Chelsea football club have removed the Brazilian winger Kenedy from their pre-season tour squad in Asia. The 21-year-old returned to London on Tuesday as the Blues decided the youngster has a lesson to learn.

Even though both the player and the club came up with formal apologies towards the Chinese fans, the damage has already been done and things cannot be taken back. A statement from Inter Sports reads:

“Chelsea FC can confirm that Kenedy has returned to the UK and will play no further part in the Club’s pre-season tour of Asia.”

It appears that the apology from Kenedy was not enough and he will have to bear with the consequences of his actions. Following the matter, Chelsea came up with an official statement on their social media:

“Kenedy’s actions were a mistake that he will learn greatly from.

“His behaviour does not represent the entire team and does not align with the club’s high expectations and strict requirements of its young players. He has been strongly reprimanded and disciplined.

“Everyone at Chelsea Football Club has the utmost respect and admiration for China and loves our Chinese fans.
