Midfielder Anthony Akumu wants to give his all to the team, as he will represent them in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Midfielder Anthony Akumu wants to impress, as he wants to be in the final list for the Africa Cup of Nations representing Kenya.
And the youngster says he’s not pressured, but he wants to show his nation he can be of use.
“I’m not under any pressure,” he told the Kenya national team official website.
“I have never played at AFCON, but at club level, I’ve featured in the CAF Champions League as well as the Confederations Cup, which comes with a lot of experience.”
“My most memorable moment was when we won CECAFA in 2013 at the Nyayo Stadium,” he added.
“I was at Gor Mahia then, and I still remember the win to date.”
“The Zesco United midfielder will be eager to make it to the final 23-man squad that will grace the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in 15 years,” the national team wrote on their website.
“But will first have to fight for a starting place in Kenya’s scheduled friendly match against Madagascar on Friday, June 7, 2019, in Paris.”
Kenya will play two matches before the Africa Cup of Nations, against Madagascar and then against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Madrid.
