AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie insists the team will benefit deeply from having the same mentality as star striker Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentina international scored the only goal as Milan defeated Dudelange away from home to begin their UEFA Europa League campaign with a victory away from home.
The former Juventus man is starting to find his feet with the Rossoneri, after being involved in the team’s last three goals; scoring twice and providing one assist. Kessie believes there is much inspiration in their ranks in the mound of the Juventus player
“He’s a great player who scores 20-25 goals every season,” Kessié told Sky per Football Italia.
“That’s what we need, he gives a lot to the team and it does so much knowing we can rely on giving him the ball. It’s normal for a team like Milan to have that kind of striker.”
“His mentality is to win every time, and he can help the squad in that way too. We must always go onto the pitch with that mentality, like him.”
Milan next face Atalanta in the Serie A on Sunday at the San Siro. Gennaro Gattuso’s men are looking to bounce back with a win after only picking up a point last time out in their game against Cagliari.
“Others might not have thought that but that is a really good base to work from. The injuries are a long time ago now. I’m in my best shape ever.”
