Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman caused some concern among fans when he suggested that he would consider retirement if he required foot surgery again
The France international has suffered from two ligament tear injuries in his left ankle in the past year and suggested he would consider his future in football if he had to undergo more surgery.
But now Coman insists his comments were merely misinterpreted.
“That was misinterpreted,” Coman told Bild.
“I meant that I wouldn’t feel like having to go to rehabilitation again if I suffered the same injury once again in the same year – meaning in the next few weeks. I didn’t comment on anything further out in the future.”
The 22-year-old made his return for Bayern this month after being sidelined since August after Bayern’s opening day win over Hoffenheim.
Coman has made seven appearances for Bayern across all competitions this season.
