Former Manchester United forward, Kleberson has urged his former team to go ahead and sign up Matthis de Ligt as the youngster looks to leave Ajax.
Manchester United was not a great experience for Kleberson. He arrived at the club back in 2002 following some great displays for Brazil at the 2002 World Cup. However, Kleberson failed to live up to expectations and left the club.
The Brazilian played alongside the club’s current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The former Norway international is currently working on a rather thorough rebuilding process for the Red Devils.
Already, the club has signed Daniel James from Swansea City. A new defender is much need as well. The Red Devils were hotly linked with a move for Matthijs de Ligt. However, the youngster has so far been very mum about his future prospects. Following a great seasn in the Champions League with Ajax, de Ligt is torn for choice.
The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Juventus are also interested so United might miss out on the target. However, Kleberson has urged his former club to sign de Ligt.
“In my opinion Manchester United need to bring in Matthijs De Ligt, who would be a good player to join because of his style of play,” he told betoclock.com, as reported by the Express.
“With his passing, he is very comfortable on the ball and he reads the game well.
“Manchester United need a solid defender at the back to be able to create more chances going forward.”
Kleberson also says that his former teammate is the right man for the job and says that he needs some time to really turn things around.
“Yes, I think so. Everyone loves Ole and he tries to coach the same way as Sir Alex Ferguson did,” he said.
“He needs time and to bring a couple more players in.
“I hope he has a good season and brings Manchester United back to winning trophies again.”
