Jurgen Klopp has praised the abilities of Thiago Alacantara while refusing to confirm any solid transfer interest for the player.
Liverpool are supposedly in pole position to land Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara, a player whose future has been up in the air in recent times.
With the 2019/20 Premier League already secured, it is said that Liverpool have turned their attention to strengthening their squad and adding depth to it before going into the next season.
Midfield is a high-priority area of focus as they prepare to fill the void of soon-to-depart Adam Lallana. Hence, as per reports, Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing Thiago to Anfield this summer.
Klopp was full of praise when asked about his views of the 29-year old Spaniard, but remained coy on discussing any potential deal.
“I have no idea who will play for me next year. There is nothing to say at the moment,” the Reds boss told Sky Germany.
“Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player. That’s actually all there is to say. There’s nothing to say!”
