Liverpool boss talked about his injured players, as the team is getting ready to face the energetic Chelsea with Frank Lampard at the helm.
After a tough loss away at Naples in the Champions League, Liverpool looks to recover this weekend. However, the task won’t be easy with the team traveling to London to face Chelsea.
Liverpool started off the domestic season strongly. After winning their first four matches, Klopp’s men are looking to extend the streak against Lampard’s Chelsea.
In an interview with Liverpool’s official website, the German manager provided the public with an injury update:
“Naby Keita is back in training at least, with the team. Today for the first time with the team.
“Ali is making big progress, but is still away. He had a proper session yesterday with John Achterberg, but is not in team training yet.
“Div, we have to see day by day, that’s how it was from the first day – how can he deal with the pain and stuff like that. We will see. It is pretty early, so I don’t know exactly what the medical department will tell me [today] about that case.
“I think it’s unlikely [he will be fit for Chelsea] but why should I rule him out? But it’s unlikely.”
With Keita, Origi, and Allison all unavailable for the weekend derby, Klopp won’t be able to rotate a lot, following the Champions League loss.
Naby Keita will resume full training at Melwood today, while @Alissonbecker and Divock Origi are making positive progress 👊
