Jurgen Klopp says Emre Can is a perfect match for a team like Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has backed Emre Can to help Borussia Dortmund give Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig a run for their money in the Bundesliga title race while heaping praise on the former Liverpool midfielder.

Emre Can signed for Liverpool in 2014 after the club activated his release clause to lure him away from Bayer Leverkusen. During his four year stay, the German failed to win any silverware despite playing in two European finals.

Can was finally able to taste success in the form of Serie A after moving to Juventus last year. But the 26-year old, after falling out of favor under manager Maurizio Sarri, was shipped off to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

And Jurgen Klopp believes his former player can once again make a name for himself in Germany as he is very suitable to Dortmund’s style.

“I am happy for BVB and Emre Can. It’s a win-win situation. Emre is just a perfect match for this club,” Klopp told Bild.

“BVB got a top lad, a wonderful, versatile footballer with an outstanding attitude. I trust them to achieve a lot in the Ruckrunde (second half of the season) with Can and [Erling] Haaland.”
