Klopp explains Liverpool’s abysmal record against top six

Klopp’s Liverpool in the early days was known for beating the big clubs and wasting away points against the weaker opponents.

A lot has changed since then, considering that Liverpool is a stable force now, destroying everything in their path.

However, while the weaker teams aren’t the problem anymore, Liverpool actually faces real difficulties when handling the top English clubs away.

In an unexpected development of things, Liverpool won just one of their twelve away matches against the top six.

Klopp didn’t complicate his explanation of the issue when asked why this is the case:

“Because they are really good.

“They have very different styles of play.

“There are different ways to win games and we have to find one.

“It is not good news obviously but I don’t feel it. We have to give it a try and a lot of people said the longer things like this happen the more likely we are to change it.”

Klopp will get a chance to silence the critics this Sunday. Liverpool will travel to Stamford Bridge in the biggest derby of the weekend.

Liverpool suffered a Champions League defeat and they will look to recover their form. However, with the defeat in Champions League opener, Liverpool is on the run domestically, looking to end the 30-year drought.

Lampard’s team is a threat for anyone, but Liverpool could use their leaky defense as Salah, Mane & Firmino don’t show mercy, no matter who is on the other side.
