Klopp hints on the addition of a new left-back

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has not ruled out the recruitment of another natural left-back to cover Andy Robertson before the end of the transfer window.

With Alberto Moreno sealing a move to Villareal, the Reds are only left with the Scottish skipper as their left- back, with the likes of Milner, Gomez and Clyne ready to fill the avoid if the need arises.

However, there are concerns a void in that position could prove fatal in the long run. Robertson has so far missed out in the club’s pre-season having undergone surgery on a hand infected after an insect bite.

Youngsters Adam Lewis and Yasser Larouci have each played 45-minute halves in the club’s two pre-season friendlies but Klopp may yet decide a new external recruit is what is required.

“We will see. It’s not a yes, not a no,” said Klopp after a 3-1 victory over Bradford via FourFourTwo.

“I have said already we have to think about everything and at the end maybe we do nothing.

“I can imagine we have a look at all the things around us. Of course, we lost a left-back (in Moreno) but today we saw two pretty young ones, and James (Milner) played it. We will see.”

Players like Brian Ruiz of Real Betis has been linked to the Reds but it remains to be seen whether Klopp will add to the squad.
