Jurgen Klopp insists his recent comments about Maurizio Sarri and Juventus were nothing other than respect for his counterpart.
Jurgen Klopp recently stated that Juventus were the best team he had ever seen and that they should easily win the Champions League.
The back and forth continues.
In an interview reported by Football Italia, Klopp almost apologetically insists his comments were nothing of the sought.
“Sometimes I don’t think before I speak, that happens.”
“I didn’t want to put Maurizio under pressure.”
“I don’t play these kinds of mind games.”
Klopp believes his words were misconstrued and taken out of context.
“I said I don’t know why Juve isn’t 10 points ahead in the League.”
“I didn’t want to put any pressure on Maurizio, I respect him absolutely.”
Klopp will not have gone up in Sarri’s estimations any more after his recent comments. The German gave his backing to Lazio in their quest for Scudetto glory.
