Jurgen Klopp admits he prefers the fact that top players are talking up the opportunity to join Liverpool.
Liverpool is the in-form team, not only in England but in Europe and probably the footballing world right now. With that kind of current profile, they are being linked with all the sports top talent.
There have been rumors from Jadon Sancho, to Kylian Mbappe, Kalidou Koulibaly to Ousmane Dembele.
The list goes on, and while many of those are pure paper talk, there is one name that is thought to be a legitimate target.
RB Leipzig’s 23-year-old German international forward Timo Werner.
In this case, even the player himself has come out and said what an honor it is to be linked with Liverpool. Adding that he believes his style of play may even be suited to theirs.
So when Sky Sports asked Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp about Werner’s admiration and interest in a move to his club, he was, of course, pleased but also rather coy.
“I prefer that when players speak about us they are positive.”
“Rather than saying ‘that’s the last club I would ever go to’.”
“From that point of view it’s obviously nice, but that’s all.”
“There’s nothing else to say about it.”
