Jurgen Klopp says he is surprised to learn that Juventus do not lead the title race with a substantial point gap.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he considered Juventus to be the frontrunners to win the Champions League this season.
With 54 apiece, Juve stand level on points with rivals Inter Milan. But the Binaconeri sit on the second spot as they lack behind on goal difference.
Juventus have won the last eight Serie A titles in a row. However, they have been unable to replicate their domestic success in Europe.
In 2018, in order to overturn their European misfortune, they bought Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.
And Jurgen Klopp feels Juve have managed to assemble a world-class squad capable of claiming Europe’s biggest prize. The Liverpool boss also found it hard to believe that Juve do not lead the Serie A title race.
“Before the season began my favorites to win the Champions League were Juventus. But obviously I don’t watch enough Italian football because I can’t understand how they are not at the top of the standings with 10 points ahead,” Klopp said as per Calciomercato.
“They have the best squad I’ve ever seen in my entire life, with quality players, it’s crazy.”
