Jurgen Klopp insists Manchester City are still strong contenders for the Champions League while naming his favorites for the competition.
In a surprising turn of events, Man City were recently hit with a ban from taking part in the European competitions for the next two seasons as UEFA found them breaching financial fair play regulations.
And Jurgen Klopp feels the ban could make Man City even more desperate to try and take home the Europe’s biggest prize this season.
Jurgen Klopp also named Real Madrid, PSG, and Barcelona to be their biggest threats in the Champions League. However, he insisted that they are only keeping their focus on the Round of 16 clash against Atletico.
“I really have no idea if we are the strongest team left in the competition. There are so many strong teams out there,” he said as per Express.
“PSG – when they are all fit. It is just a bomb. That is just a really strong team. Bayern getting more and more in again, Barcelona you can never discount, Real Madrid, Manchester City, let’s not forget, because the Champions League will be one of their big targets.
“We have no clue how far we can go and the only real problem at this moment is Atletico.”
