Jurgen Klopp has declared that Liverpool has no chance of signing Kylian Mbappe

Jurgen Klopp, in an attempt to lure Mbappe to Anfield, held talks with the French international’s parents a couple of years earlier. But Mbappe denied Klopp’s invitation and decided to stay in his home country.

A lot of talk has been going on among Europe’s big guns to land the French superstar. Liverpool is one such horse in the race. The Liverpool fans had even started a social media campaign named ‘#Mbappe2020‘ in an attempt to further fuel the fire. But recently, Jurgen Klopp has poured water on all the rumors surrounding Mbappe.

The German manager acclaimed the PSG forward’s talent and said that any club would love to have him. But Klopp dismissed the prospect of signing Mbappe in the near future. The former Dortmund manager reasoned that Mbappe was too expensive to afford by Liverpool.

“Buying this calibre of player is difficult. I don’t see any club at the moment who can buy Kylian Mbappé from PSG. I don’t see any club, that is how it is,” Klopp said.

“And we are involved in the clubs that cannot do it. It is as easy as that.

“OK, from a sporting point of view, there are not a lot of reasons to not sign him. What a player he is. But it is about the money of course,” Klopp explained.

“No chance. Absolutely no chance. Sorry for killing that story.”
